There’s been rumors of a rematch, between this nitrous-equipped 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra and this turbocharged Chevy Silverado, for some time now. Possibly to avenge some previous humiliation. The buildup is the fun part: we check out all of these cars, and what’s under the hood for this supercharged Cobra. Then, it’s to the highway for a few roll runs!
From a 40mph roll, the Silverado—with its 76mm turbo—keeps up, and nearly pulls ahead, but gets whipped. But from 50mph, things are a little different. That Silverado whooshes up ahead, and stays there. Not even a 75 shot will help now.
Later, a Pontiac GTO with a 418 cu.in motor joins in the fun. Good times for all: but we’d love to see the GTO take on the turbo Chevy. Perhaps a rematch is in order.
