Hennessey HPE500 package is the Goldilocks of sixth-gen Camaro tuning packages

Hennessey HPE500 package is the Goldilocks of sixth-gen Camaro tuning packages

As we reported last week, a 1000-horsepower sixth-gen Camaro is in the works from Hennessey Performance, but how about something a little more modest from the wild Texas tuner?

Modest, yes, but just as powerful. Hennessey offers the Goldilocks of packages for the 2016 Camaro, in the form of the HPE500 package. Gains of 35 rear-wheel horsepower and lb-ft of torque over stock make for a potent car in itself.

Those gains come from Kooks 1-7/8th inch, long-tube, stainless steel headers with high-flow catalytic converters, a high-flow intake, and a recalibrated engine management computer.

And yes, the HPE500 upgrade comes with a 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty, as well as the whiff of limited availability: John himself will build just 500 this year.
