Cummins-powered Tahoe is a badass project build

Cummins-powered Tahoe is a badass project build

Meet Rich. He documented extensively what he calls the “Chummins” Tahoe, which started life as a 2004 model before receiving a 3.9-liter 4BT turbodiesel from an 80s Dodge Ram pickup—and the front end from a newer Silverado. The result, which he put on Reddit to an adoring shower of uproots, is pretty damn cool.

He did such an extensive job photographing and explaining his build, within this massive photo gallery, that we could nearly replicate it ourselves. Why did Rich put a Cummins in a Tahoe? The fuel economy, for one, plus the potential for a biodiesel conversion. And, of course, the copious amounts of torque.

The whole project is also documented on YouTube, starting here. The best part about the swap of course, are the novelty bumper stickers that will inevitably follow.
